For this great project in Dunrobin the clients hired us to design and fabricate their custom kitchen. After seeing our display kitchen on the 2013 Ottawa Home and Design show the clients new we were the right choice for them. The Task: The clients really liked our show kitchen because it looked modern and clean but had a warm feel to it so we knew what finishes to choose. For their large kitchen space we decided to bring it up a notch. Instead of high gloss lacquer accents we chose a back painted glass for the upper doors. Bar Kitchen in high gloss The Task: Our Client was looking for a Bar kitchen with a very modern look.He wanted a Fridge and Freezer with an ice maker, a microwave, a drop down surface for plates, a pull out work surface, a recycling sorter pullout, drawers and a display area for glasses and expensive liquors.There was also a painting worth over 12000.- that he asked us to integrate in the unit. Handwerk recently fabricated and installed cabinets and millwork for 2 Bathrooms in an older house on 4th Ave. This project was another succesfull colaboration between Designer Serina Fraser and the Handwerk team. We carefully choose the veneers in this case walnut and teak. See the Detailing on the walnut vanity in Image 1. The veneer wraps around the end gable in a beautiful line.The barnboards where cut to fit flush in a recess of the Drywall. Before the barnboards were inserted we treated the edges with a special vinegar solution to make them look grey just as the front surface. This recent project in Navan included:
A new mudroom built-in, home office and media centre , a small bathroom vanity, walk in closet, master bedroom wall paneling and bench, a bedroom media centre with lots of drawer storage. A large ensuite vanity with makeup area and upper cabinets in high gloss laquer. We also made a custom shower floor in African mahagony with a natural hardoil finish.
The design for the project was done by Penny Southam. All exterior finishes are bookmatched mahagony veneers the accent colour is a stained quartercut engineered veneer.
The cabinet interior features solid dovetailed mahagony drawers with our standard softclose.
Our clients from Ottawa South came to us last year to get a new custom designed kitchen, vanities and TV cabinet after a devastating fire had almost completely destroyed their beloved home.
They entertain a lot and often host friends in their kitchen to watch hockey games. One requirement was to incorporate a large island to accommodate eight people and a corner media cabinet for the TV.
The finishes had to give the space an elegant and warm look.
We chose a grey veneer for the primary finish and a white high gloss lacquer for the accent color.
The backsplash and countertop were chosen by the clients.
